Can you imagine how much you can accomplish if you were organized. You know that saying," life is too short, don't waste it". Well life is what you make it and who wants to spend all their time scrambling through clutter every day. That’s no fun! According to Escape Magazine of the 2000s’, Each Week the average American will spend one year searching through desk clutter looking for misplaced objects. I wonder, what can you do with one-year worth of time? In this organizing blog are 5 tips to help you boost your organizing success!
1. Get a to-do list
Many people have to-do list but aren’t using it effectively. Find out what things are most important to you and do those things first. For example, if you have a deadline for a big project at work. Do that project first and everything else that must be completed do next. Always remember to list everything in order of importance.
2. Keep a note pad handy
Those moments that we get when something just pops in your head or that new idea you just thought of arises. Use the note pad to jot those thoughts down. This is good to use as a reference for later. This insures that everything gets accomplished when it is supposed to. Also, this will help with your to-do list and calendar for the month.
3. Time is money
When you do a budget for your money, you should do a tacking for your time. Knowing were your time is going will help you use time wisely. This helps with completing goals and task on time, as well. For example, if you wanted to work out and you say you don’t have time. Maybe if you cut back on those 1hour and a half phone calls a day and replace that time with your workout routine. Once you get in the habit of tracking your time, you are now on your way to smashing your goals.
4. Declutter your home
Something a lot of people have and need to get rid of is clutter. The best way to simplify your life is to get rid of the unnecessary clutter. Most people accumulate clutter because people give them things that they don’t need anymore. It's okay to say no when someone asks if you want something. Unless you really need it, or it would have a place in your home do not take it. Save yourself time and energy on having to go through it, a few months later, just to throw it away. Think about it this way, someone could use that item, instead of collecting dust and wasting space in your home. It's okay to hold on to a few items for sentimental reasons, but you can make this an excuse for throwing nothing away. You can keep the first birthday card from your first love, but maybe take a picture of it and create a collage or a keepsake (small) box. There are many ways to reduce the clutter you just have to take the first and knowledge that you have.
